What We Offer

Advocacy & Outreach

Having an extensive history in advocacy and outreach on behalf of low-income communities, AISJ understands the important value of being a voice for the voiceless. By continuing its work in strategically supporting efforts that will increase economic advancement and level the playing field, AISJ works to advance networking and collaborative outreach efforts across a broad cross-sector of organizations that share in its mission and vision. This is accomplished, in part, through the hosting of community-based events that aim to rally communities in identifying issues and developing solutions for grassroots community change initiatives, using a race and gender equity lens.

Training & Leadership Development

A critical component of AISJ’s mission includes serving as a central hub for leadership development and training in the state. As the organization collaborates with various leading organizations to further promote its vision of creating an equality state, AISJ is committed to developing other leaders to advance the important work of social justice.

AISJ provides training, knowledge, and technical assistance, including early child-care learning, advocacy, business development, and grassroots leadership organizing, to name a few of its areas of concentration. Our leadership model is one that creates other leaders and not simply followers. Our innovative approach is designed to provide practical knowledge and application as well as tools and resources to empower leaders for civic engagement and community change.

Public Policy & Justice Pioneering

The looming threat of an ever-changing legislative environment, coupled with a shifting political climate, create an ongoing need for AISJ to continue forward-thinking, active advocacy of public policy reform. AISJ’s pioneering justice strategy is designed to increase critical conversations surrounding the issues that systematically keep low-wealth populations from having access to prosperity and the full actualization of human rights. Through local and national events, outreach and collaborative efforts with individuals, organizations and government entities, AISJ serves as a beacon of hope in bringing to light the root causes of issues around race, class, and gender, while using a reconciliation strategy to foster a deeper understanding of the human experience.
